These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the RentNow website, platform and related services operated by RentNow Homes Limited (“RentNow”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By using RentNow, you agree to these Terms.

1. ABOUT RENTNOW

RentNow is a Nigerian property technology platform that helps people looking for homes discover rental properties and connect with verified agents, property representatives, landlords and/or property companies.

2. ELIGIBILITY

Users must provide accurate information when creating an account and must not use another person’s identity without proper authority.

3. USER ACCOUNTS

  • Provide accurate information.
  • Keep account credentials secure.
  • Do not impersonate another person.
  • Do not create fraudulent accounts.
  • Notify RentNow if an account is compromised.

RentNow may suspend, restrict or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable law or platform safety requirements.

4. TENANTS AND HOUSE SEEKERS

Tenants and house seekers may search for properties, view property information, save properties, contact agents, send enquiries, arrange appointments where available, make applicable payments and review agents where available. Users should independently inspect properties and confirm important information before making substantial payments or entering tenancy agreements.

5. AGENTS AND PROPERTY REPRESENTATIVES

  • Provide accurate information.
  • Complete required verification.
  • Only list properties they are authorised to market.
  • Provide accurate property information.
  • Avoid misleading photographs, prices or descriptions.
  • Keep listings reasonably up to date.
  • Respond honestly to enquiries.
  • Comply with applicable laws and professional requirements.
  • Not request or encourage fraudulent payments.

6. AGENT VERIFICATION

A “Verified” badge means RentNow has completed the applicable verification process for that account at the relevant time. Verification does not guarantee that an agent will never engage in misconduct, that every statement is accurate, or that every property associated with the agent is genuine. RentNow may remove, suspend or review verification where circumstances change or concerns arise.

7. PROPERTY LISTINGS

Listings may contain information supplied by agents, landlords, owners or property companies. Prices and availability may change. RentNow may correct, reject, suspend or remove listings. A listing does not by itself create a tenancy agreement.

8. LANDLORDS AND PROPERTY OWNERS

RentNow may offer property marketing and, where separately agreed, assistance with generating prospective tenant enquiries. Separate written agreements may contain additional terms relating to properties, marketing, enquiries, viewings, fees, payment, duration, responsibilities and termination.

9. RENTNOW DOES NOT GUARANTEE A TENANCY

RentNow does not guarantee that a property will be rented, a tenant will be found, an agent will receive a particular number of enquiries, a property will remain available, a tenant will be accepted, or a transaction will be completed.

10. PAYMENTS

Certain RentNow services may require payment. The amount, purpose and payment conditions will be presented before payment. Payments may be processed through authorised third-party payment providers. Users must not submit fraudulent payment information or bypass RentNow payment systems.

11. REFUNDS

Refund eligibility depends on the particular service, transaction and circumstances. Where a RentNow service provides for a refund, applicable conditions will be communicated. RentNow may investigate disputed transactions before approving a refund. Nothing in these Terms is intended to unlawfully remove a consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

12. APPOINTMENTS AND PROPERTY VIEWINGS

Users must provide accurate appointment information and communicate promptly if they cannot attend. Agents and property representatives must not deliberately provide false property information. Tenants should confirm the identity and authority of the person showing the property.

13. MESSAGES AND COMMUNICATION

Users must not use RentNow messaging to harass or threaten others, send fraudulent or illegal content, distribute malware, spam users or impersonate another person.

14. REVIEWS AND RATINGS

Reviews and ratings must be honest and based on actual experience. Fake reviews, paid misleading reviews, threats, extortion and unlawful content are prohibited. RentNow may remove violating reviews.

15. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

  • Fraud or facilitation of fraud.
  • Fake properties.
  • Impersonation.
  • Listing properties without authority.
  • Misrepresenting rental prices or charges.
  • Deceptive payment schemes.
  • Unauthorised access to accounts or systems.
  • Malicious software.
  • Abuse of users.
  • Any unlawful use of RentNow.

16. SCAM AND FRAUD REPORTING

RentNow is designed around safer house hunting and verification. Users should not send money simply because a person has a RentNow account or verification badge. Users should inspect properties, confirm identity and authority, review relevant documents, understand charges, keep payment records and report suspicious activity.

17. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Unless otherwise stated, RentNow’s website, branding, logo, designs, text, software, graphics and other original materials are owned by or licensed to RentNow Homes Limited. They may not be commercially exploited without appropriate permission.

18. USER CONTENT

Users confirm they have the right to submit photographs, property descriptions, reviews and other content. Users grant RentNow permission to use, store, reproduce, display and process submitted content as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, improve and promote RentNow services.

19. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

RentNow may integrate with payment, verification, communication, hosting and other technology providers. Those services may have separate terms and privacy policies.

20. AVAILABILITY OF THE PLATFORM

RentNow aims to keep the platform available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The platform may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical problems, network failures, security incidents, third-party interruptions or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

21. ACCURACY OF INFORMATION

RentNow aims to provide useful and accurate information but does not guarantee that every piece of information will always be complete, current or error-free. Users should confirm important information before entering transactions.

22. LIMITATION OF RENTNOW’S ROLE

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, RentNow does not own every property displayed, guarantee every property or user, guarantee completion of transactions, guarantee tenant acceptance, guarantee agent conduct at all times, or guarantee continued property availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

23. USER RESPONSIBILITY

Users are responsible for their own decisions and actions and should carry out appropriate checks before paying rent, deposits, viewing or appointment charges, signing tenancy agreements, providing sensitive information or moving into a property.

24. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

RentNow may suspend or terminate access where it reasonably believes a user violated these Terms, engaged in fraud, provided false information, misused the platform, threatened or harmed others, attempted to compromise security, or violated applicable law.

25. PRIVACY

Use of RentNow is also subject to the RentNow Privacy Policy.

26. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

RentNow may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes may be communicated through the website or account notifications. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective may constitute acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

27. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties may pursue appropriate dispute-resolution or legal remedies available under Nigerian law.
